School Aged Self-Advocacy Youth Development
The New York State Developmental Disabilities Planning Council is announcing availability of grant funds to:
Fund one grantee up to $450,000 ($150,000 per year for 3 years) to create, pilot, and evaluate a self-advocacy skills training within New York State for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), school administrators and personnel, educators, and other stakeholders to support a self-advocacy youth movement.
The project will establish a standardized, competency based self-advocacy program for students with IDD in a school setting. It will be administered through 25 school districts and serve about 500 students with IDD. The project will also implement a supplemental education program for school staff, administrators, and other stakeholders.
Deadlines for Letter-of-Intent Submission & Proposal Submission:

Designated Contact / Issuing Officer
DDPC has assigned a Program Planner as the Designated Contact / Issuing Officer for this project. The Program Planner or a designee shall be the sole point of contact regarding the RFP from the date of issuance of the RFP until the issuance of the Notice of Award letter. To avoid being deemed non-responsive, an applicant is restricted from contacting any other personnel of the DDPC regarding the RFP. Certain findings of non-responsibility can result in rejection for a contract award. The Issuing Officer for this RFP is:
