WHY IS THIS NEEDED?

New York is one of the most diverse states in the U.S.  Given New York’s diversity, there is a clear need to enhance our service delivery system’s ability to provide quality, culturally competent supports and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD). Advocacy and civic engagement are key tools which drive change and ensure that New York is responsive to the needs of diverse individuals with ID/DD and their families.

HOW WILL THIS PROJECT HELP?

This grant will provide funding to increase the capacity of SANYS to engage diverse self-advocates across New York State.
